Website privacy
This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics profiling. Fonts are served from this website’s own domain rather than a third-party font service, so browsing these pages does not report your visit to anyone else.
If you complete the contact form, the information you provide (your name, email address, optional phone number and your message) is sent to the practice by email and used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not stored on this website, and it is not sold, shared or used for marketing.
You may ask at any time what information is held about you, and request that it be deleted, by writing to the practice email address.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed in session is confidential and protected by California law and by HIPAA. There are limited exceptions in which a therapist is legally required or permitted to disclose information without your consent:
- Where there is reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child, elder or dependent adult
- Where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or to an identifiable other person
- Where records are subpoenaed or disclosure is ordered by a court
- Where you provide written authorisation for information to be released
These limits are explained fully in the informed consent documents you receive before your first session.
Telehealth
Sessions are conducted over a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted video platform. Clients must be physically located in the State of California at the time of session, as the licence to practise is state-specific. We will agree a plan for technical failures and for emergencies before the first session.
Cancellations
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, and missed sessions, are charged at the full fee, as the time has been reserved for you. Insurance does not reimburse missed sessions.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of services. You will be given one before treatment begins, and may request one at any time. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you may dispute it.
